Radiant Heating with Hardwood Floors

Planning to install hardwood floors in your home? The Ultra-Fin Radiant Floor Heating System™ is your perfect choice.

There was a time when hardwood floors and radiant heating didn’t mix, as some radiant heating systems tend to warm the floor unevenly and create “heat striping”. The problem arises with traditional radiant floor systems that rely on some form of direct contact “heat transfer” to heat your floor. Whether it’s concrete slabs or metal transfer plates, there is something hot making direct contact with the floor structure. Ultra-Fin™ is different: it uses hot air convection.

With the Ultra-Fin Radiant Floor Heating System™, hot water tubing runs though the air space between the joists beneath the floor. As hot water travels through the tubing, the heat is conducted to patented light-weight aluminum Ultra-Fins attached to the tubing. The fins transfer heat naturally to the air in the joist spaces, generating convection currents that warm your entire floor quickly and efficiently.

Because the Ultra-Fin Radiant Floor Heating System™ never makes direct contact with your floor covering or subfloor material, there’s no “heat striping” to cause uneven expansion and contraction in your hardwood.  You get quick heat response and superior comfort, together with big cost savings over other radiant heating systems!
